  1. Spiritual Says:

Okay so I am a student living in India. This happened a year ago. Me and my friends were sitting in our college cafeteria when we saw two white girls walking towards us. They asked us if they could sit with us and we were okay. They introduced themselves as Susan and Molly(name changed). They told us that they had come from the USA and they were visiting India to do a research on the lives of Indian students. We were naive at that time and we were quite fascinitated to know that somebody from the USA wants to do research about us. So these girls started chatting up with us, about the college and eveything. They asked us where they could shop for some nice clothes and accessories. We exchanged numbers and decided meet after few days. We guys took them for shopping and everything, but never did I find them taking down any notes. So a few week later they called us at a coffee house and started telling us about Christianity. In fact susan drew some diagram on a piece of paper where she drew “heaven”, “hell” and “earth” and told us that if we would pray, then we would go to heaven to live with God. Then she asked us if we want to follow this faith. Now talking about me, I am a born Hindu, but by nature I am spiritual. I believe in single power and don’t have any belief in heaven or hell. But I do respect all religions.
So very politely i informed them that I do not believe in heaven or hell and I am a spiritual being. The girls started insisting. they even told us that they prayed for some friend of theirs because she was not able to conceive, but a year after she was blessed with a baby girl. I told them that I respect all that, but I woudn’t follow it. After that meeting got over, the girls never contacted us. In fact few days later I saw them sitting with another group of students in our college cafeteria but they didn’t show any sign of recognition when they looked at us. They completely ignored us as if they never knew us.
So what were they? What was their purpose? And why sdid they lie that they were students who were doing research on Indian students for the sake of propagation of their faith?
What do you think about all this?

  2. It sounds like they were trying to befriend you for the propagation of their brand of Christianity. That behavior is very typical in the United States, and it is often indicative of how some Christian denominations try to maintain their power over their followers by telling them to try to convert others to ensure their own salvation.

I think it’s awful and am saddened that it happened to you.
